PP + UDF + CTO + UF + T33 Drinking Water Filter without Reverse Osmosis
This 5-stage drinking water filtration system is designed for multi-stage filtration of tap water. It combines mechanical filtration, activated carbon filtration and an ultrafiltration membrane to provide progressive water treatment.
Importantly, this system does not use reverse osmosis (RO). Its main membrane technology is ultrafiltration (UF). Unlike conventional RO systems, it does not use a reverse osmosis membrane and does not require a dedicated RO wastewater drain. The system operates without electrical power.
The filtration process consists of five stages:
1. PP Sediment Filter
The first stage uses a polypropylene sediment filter designed to retain mechanical impurities and sediment such as sand, rust, dust and other suspended particles.
2. UDF – Granular Activated Carbon
The granular activated carbon stage adsorbs chlorine, unpleasant odors and some organic compounds, helping to improve the taste and smell of the water.
3. CTO – Carbon Block Filter
The carbon block provides additional adsorption and filtration of residual chlorine, organic compounds and substances that may affect water taste and odor.
4. UF – Ultrafiltration Membrane
The ultrafiltration membrane provides a fine membrane filtration stage designed to retain fine particles, colloids and certain microorganisms depending on the characteristics of the membrane used. Unlike reverse osmosis, UF technology is not intended to remove dissolved mineral salts from water.
5. T33 – Post Activated Carbon Filter
The final activated carbon stage provides post-filtration and helps reduce residual odors while improving the taste of the treated water.
The system is suitable for households and other applications where additional filtration of tap water is required. Its non-electric design eliminates the need for electrical power and avoids the wastewater discharge associated with conventional RO systems.
